Sourcing clean water for life and health.
The human body is made up of approximately 70% water. Even being slightly dehydrated can have a significant impact on athletic performance. The ability for muscles to contract, joints to be lubricated and other vital bodily functions are all impacted by the consumption of water. Water Sports Alliance is always concerned with ensuring a clean source of water is available for the youth athletes involved with our programs, as well as the inhabitants of our member states.
Humans can only go up to 5-7 days without water, which means that water is a precious commodity necessary for life itself. While 71% of the Earth is covered in water, only 2.5% of it is drinkable, and that includes water currently frozen in glaciers, ice and snow. The balance is saltwater that is not consumable. Water is not only necessary for drinking, but also for sanitation and sewage. Without clean water, human life on planet Earth is not sustainable. World Sports Alliance is constantly studying the latest in water innovation as a means of supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.
