Sports Affects Poverty

Through sports, entire generations can hope for a better economic future.

Sports is a way of building a middle class economy, which is the most effective means of lifting the masses out of poverty. Entire generations of formerly impoverished families can trace their economic mobility directly to sports. When a young athlete gets an athletic scholarship, or even more rare makes it to the professional level, the effects are reverberated throughout the surrounding family, as well as community. Giving poverty stricken communities hope for a better life through sports is at the heart of World Sports Alliance global mission.

Poverty can be directly attributed to much of the problems with the world in general. Poverty leads to criminal behavior, war, poor health, drug use and other issues negatively affecting civil society. Sports is a perfect economic engine. World Sports Alliance promotes constantly strives to make the world a better place through sports.
